Strategy, Transformation, and Operations, which included undertaking the interim Chief Operating Officer (COO) role for SRS EU. Involved working collaboratively with the Mobility leadership team to drive strategic direction, operational efficiencies and partnerships.

 

Board strategy, Investments, Partnerships and Operational transformation and technology related to global Electric Vehicle integration.

 

Board strategy, Investments, Partnerships and Operational transformation concerning Electric Vehicle integration into the parking / vehicle-led payment ecosystem.

Building Europe’s leading EV charging provider

chargemaster (bP Pulse)

EV CHARGING

Neil played a key role in the founding team and board of Chargemaster (now BP Pulse following acquisition in 2018), developing products and services which established the business as the leading European EVSE provider. Neil built a global eMobility network, a wide-array of commercial partnerships with the majority of OEM’s and leading ENCO’s, as well as strategic projects with Government and leading Cities.

INNOVATION

Neil has overseen a wide range of EV related projects, examples include introducing ChargeNow in the UK for BMWi customers, introduction of the Polar (now BP Pulse) EV charging network in the UK, the development of ENCO and OEM consumer products and services and supporting infrastructure for EV fleet’s including the 2012 London Olympics, hire-car operations and original MiniE trials as well as the creation of public charging networks in towns and cities including London, Paris and Amsterdam.

URBAN INNOVATION

Reporting to the Automotive CDO and as part of the strategic unit supporting the Board of Management at Bosch - Neil led the conception and development of the Urban business unit and Automated, Connected Electric and Shared (ACES) service development in Cities. Neil and his teams developed the vision, strategic roadmap and executed via investments and partnerships with OEMS’s, cities, digital mobility service startups and corporate partners worldwide.

Bosch x TfL

DIGITAL MOBILITY

Neil and his teams delivered a groundbreaking digital innovation partnership with Transport for London (TfL) that Neil launched alongside the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan in October 2018. This included the development of purpose-built, cutting-edge digital innovation hub in Shoreditch, London.

OPERATIONS

In prior roles, Neil has developed, implemented, ran and overseen operations for a range of mobility services, including electric vehicle sharing, pooling and hailing - developing a keen understanding of what works and what doesn’t work in terms of teams, tech and product design and fit in key global territories.

As the senior executive at the UK’s Transport Research Laboratory (TRL) with responsibility for automotive and mobility - Neil and his teams led the conception and delivery of multiple autonomous vehicle and connected car projects (£60m+). This included groundbreaking projects with leading Automotive OEM’s, Tier 1’s, insurance and emerging mobility players. Important government research including the UK response to the Dieselgate scandal - as well as the conception and implementation of the Smart Mobility Lab London alongside UK government, local authorities and key corporate partners.

POLICY & INNOVATION

In prior roles, Neil has overseen the development of policy and delivery via innovation frameworks on behalf of government and supranational clients. Examples include European regulatory development on behalf of the European Commission in addition to innovation partnerships (focused on mobility, services & data) with public transit, local and national governments - including the DfT and NHTSA - building a position of trust.
